Not graduating in 4 years means that your students are wasting money and valuable time. This book includes a readiness assessment that can be taken via scannable QR code inside of the book. This assessment is taken before and after completing this workbook to gauge your student's readiness for college.
Transitioning to college can be overwhelming. This book is a great resource for students as it walks a student through stress management and mindfulness practices. This book will help students manage anxiety, build resilience, and maintain a positive mindset throughout their academic journey.
Building a social network is crucial for new college students. Social support involves making friends, joining clubs, participating in campus activities, and finding a mentor. Engaging on campus helps create a sense of community, providing emotional support and enhancing the overall college experience.
Navigating college life requires practical skills and strategies. Tactical support includes academic advising, time management, and study skills. This book will help students to develop effective habits, plan their coursework, and stay organized, ensuring a successful and smooth transition into college academics.
Within each chapter, students will find spiritual guidance sections based on a Christian world view. Ongoing spiritual support is an essential aspect of a student's success and well-being. Engaging in spiritual practices can provide comfort, promote inner peace, and offer a sense of purpose and direction.
The RCI offers an assessment of each individual student's Readiness for Change. Designed for new students embarking on their college journey, these assessments shine light on the areas they are lacking allowing them to be better prepared for the semester by knowing what they need to develop. At the end of the semester, students will retake the assessment to demonstrate the improvement heading into the second. Areas still in need of attention can be focused on by the student once they know where to concentrate their efforts.

Our combination textbook and readiness assessments are designed to both assist the students in preparing for their first semester experience and the institution in assisting them with the transition. It is effective in conjunction with existing First Year Student Experience courses and can be adopted as a support book for the courses already being given by the institution. Those institutions who adopt the book as part of their curriculum will have access to the readiness assessments both at the beginning and the end of the semester giving instructors valuable insight to the experience of their students. This should allow the school to target their retention efforts toward at-risk students sooner.
